Privacy Policy
Last updated October 31, 2026. Applies to Loopr 1.0 for iPhone and to the-loopr.app.
Who we are
Loopr is made by Velnix. You can reach us at hello@theloopr.io.
What stays on your phone
The app keeps the following in its private storage on your device. We never see it.
- The subscriptions you track: name, amount, currency, billing cycle, renewal and trial dates, category and notes.
- Their charge and price history.
- The receipt images you scan or import.
- An optional name and profile photo, and your app settings.
Receipts
When you scan a receipt, the text is recognised and read on your iPhone, using Apple's on-device Vision framework and, where available, Apple Intelligence running on the device. The image is never uploaded to us or to any AI service. If a receipt shows the last 4 digits of a card, only those 4 digits are kept, for display. Loopr never asks for bank logins or full card numbers.
Camera and photos
Loopr asks for camera access to scan a receipt, and for photo access only to the pictures you choose to import. Both are optional, and you can change them in iOS Settings at any time.
iCloud backup (optional)
If you turn on backup, a copy of your data and receipt images is saved to your own iCloud account, in a private area that only Loopr on your devices can open. Apple stores it under the iCloud terms you agreed to with Apple; we cannot see it. You can turn backup off, or delete the backup, from Settings.
Reminders
Renewal, trial and monthly-summary reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone. No push server is involved.
Analytics
The App Store version of Loopr uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count installs and see which screens and features are used (for example, that a scan finished). It is tied to a random app-instance identifier, not to your name or email, and there is no account to link it to. It never includes subscription names, amounts or anything from a receipt. Loopr does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, a technical report (device model, iOS version, the code that failed) may be sent to Sentry so we can fix it. It contains no subscription or receipt data, screenshots or screen contents.
Who else handles data
- Apple: on-device text recognition (stays on your phone) and iCloud, if you use backup.
- Google (Firebase Analytics): anonymous usage counts, as described above.
- Sentry: crash reports, as described above.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we share nothing else with anyone.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your subscription data stays on your device until you remove it. In Settings, "Erase all data" deletes everything on this device and can delete the iCloud backup too. Deleting the app also removes the data on the device. Because we hold none of your subscription data, there is nothing on our side to delete or export; you can export your charges as CSV from Settings. Analytics and crash data cannot be tied back to you, so they cannot be looked up or deleted individually.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal data. Since your data is on your own device and iCloud, you already control it. If you have a question or request about anything we might hold, email us and we will answer.
Children
Loopr is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
This website
the-loopr.app is a static site hosted on Cloudflare. It sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers, and has no sign-in or forms. Cloudflare may log basic request data (such as IP address) to serve and protect the site.
Cost
This version of Loopr is free and has no in-app purchases, so we do not collect any payment information. If a future version adds paid features, this policy will be updated before it ships.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for material changes we will tell you in the app or on this site.
